The Song
In 1892, Don Julian Felipe, the composer of the Philippines' National Anthem, created the hymn, REINA DE CAVITE for the annual feast of the Virgen de la Soledad and the Opening of the Exposición Regional Caviteña. It's words were taken from the poem “Himno a la Virgen de Cavite” written by the Jesuit, Fr. Tomas de Andrade, rector of the Colegio de Cavite in 1689.
