Membership Requirements
Persons of whatever gender, nationality or civil status maybe indiscriminatively admitted
provided that he/she:
1. Must have made the first move to voluntarily,
explicitly and visibly express his desire to be part of the Cofradia.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3. Must be a Roman Catholic.
4. Must enjoy a good name in the right Christian sense.
5. Must be a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title
NUESTRA SENORA DE LA SOLEDAD DE PORTA VAGA.
provided that he/she:

NUESTRA SENORA DE LA SOLEDAD DE PORTA VAGA.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selection process includes but not limited to, among others:
a. A devotee must make the first move to voluntarily, explicitly and visibly express verbally and in writing his utmost desire to be part and parcel of the ministry of the Cofradia.
b. He shall be recommended in writing of at least two (2) active Cofradia members in good standing addressed to the Membership Committee. Standard form of which may be prescribed/ provided/ required by the membership committee for uniformity and formality.
c. He shall then submit pertinent documents to the Membership Committee (Personal Data Sheet, Letter of Intent and/or Pledge of Commitment to the Organization, written Essay/ Testimony of his/her personal devotion to the Soledad among others) to manifest commitment of the candidate to the organization. Standard form of which may be prescribed/ provided/ required by the membership committee for uniformity and formality.
d. Applicant shall undergo panel interview, due deliberation, favorable consideration, approval by the membership committee of the candidate.
e. Announcement by the membership committee of the formal acceptance of the candidate at a Regular/ Special meeting, approval of the officers/ spiritual director and the immediate scheduling of the Swearing-in to the Cofradia Constitution and By-Laws and subsequent and Imposition of the Medal/ Installation of the candidate as a Regular member.
f. Settlement of the required portion of the Lifetime Membership Fee with the Cofradia Treasurer on or before his/her installation with balance that could be made payable in staggered payments for not more than one (1) year.
g. FORMATION and ORIENTATION. For purposes of formation, catechesis, and information dissemination, a new member shall be required to attend a one-day seminar-orientation which shall cover a Mariology Seminar focusing on the devotion to the Virgen de la Soledad, basic catechism of the Catholic Church and orientation on the history of the devotion and the local church of Cavite which shall prepare him/her on the mission that he/she is to partake in the Cofradia.
